Documents

I have included a selection of eight primary sources that relate to the Iran-Contra Affair. Each of these primary sources speaks to an element of the affair and provides a level of understanding to the justifications by the Reagan Administration at numerous levels for the affair’s existence. The two top-level sources are the speeches by President Reagan himself where he outlines why the US needs to support the Contras, and then another one addressing the congressional investigations. From here there are other documents including congressional reports and transcripts, one of the Boland Amendments, and declassified communications/internal communications from the National Security Council.
